OK, so, wow, this one is really crazy! We get to see tons of wildlife on our farm because it is quite remote and not near any other homes. So, on this day we were filming a new deer fawn that was bedded right near our home in the woods. We were documenting the all day bed down of the fawn. At one point our cat decided to go and check out the fawn. She has befriended deer in the past and has actually played with deer.. But this time something was different!!! I was filming the interaction of the cat investigating the deer fawn. We even tried calling her back so as to leave the fawn alone, as spooking it would have put it in danger being up on its feet on its own. So, as I filmed this whole interaction there was actually a 5 or 6 foot rat snake that was moving towards the fawn. The cat saw this and instinctively tried to intervene and protect the fawn from the huge snake! Grab some popcorn and your favorite beverage because this one is a nail biter. this is ALL REAL LIFE stuff that we document when we see it. People are idiotic! I love every bit of that video and especially when the beautiful baby went back to her mommy and had her snack and everybody was fine and what a beautiful cat and beautiful scenery with the Fawn and the deer I just don't understand people who don't understand this is the world around us.. country living and beauty of nature! I lived in Louisiana down in the swamps down the by and got used to that has my mailbox was across the street and the Bayou was right before that so I kind of had to make sure to walk outside before I walk to the mailbox to get mail lol actually seen quite a few alligators and actually you the people who did Swamp People show they live down and buy from where I lived great videos thank you so much

Your cat is kinda fat. You should get it to chase things that move faster than a slow moving snake, or a stationary fawn...maybe feed it a little less food so it loses weight.

I'm sure this was entertaining for those who have never driven by a forest much less spent any time in one.
A rat snake after a fawn?????????????? A toad, lizard, small rodents, MAYBE a bird (if it's small) but a fawn.
Christ, I hope you never have to provide for yourself in the wild. You'll die the first time a screech owl flies overhead thinking it will carry you away.

Why didn't go after the snake? bring on the large chopper and chop off the snake into pieces, start the fire and burn it. Simple, temporarily remove the threat to the living things around you. No need to put sympathy to that snake, who is going to pay the price of loss if this snake kills any living thing it aims at? I don't need any criticism to this comment. thank you.

Rat snakes are non-venomous. They feed on mice and birds. It's all good. :)

This is a gag, right? The cat wasn't protecting the fawn, it was just checking the snake. And Rat Snakes eat rodents and birds, not large animals. It was absolutely no threat to the fawn. Had it gotten close then realized the fawn was there, the snake would have turned and fled. The fact is, it didn't know the fawn was there. The fawn was staying still, and snakes have horrible vision for stationary objects.

GREAT CAPTURE, Sir!!! What a good kitty. What a beautiful fawn, and such a wonderful Rat-Snake! Of course, there's no way that little snake would be dumb enough to pick a fight with the fawn or the kitty, but... the video is quite interesting, well filmed, and the music really adds to the excitement. Great job, Sir. Thumbs up!!!

Once again I must give you kudos for a fantastic video. This was just as enjoyable, perhaps more so, than most scenes from the Disney nature series. They traveled all over the planet to get their footage! lol. You shot this right here in America on your own property! Awesome. Hey, thanks for replying too. A lot (most) content creators on here don't respond to compliments. Keep up the fine work. ~ Jason
