Imagine drilling trough the surface of a rogue planet eager to see the life than being instantly vaporized by the water pressure and turn into air for your comrades and future civilisations to breathe, each of the atoms that that once made you being kiliomiters apart as soon as you hit the surface.

So if I eat Lenin's corpse I will be made out of his atoms and therefore him so I can restart the revolution and reach an even higher accidentall kill coun... I mean make the world a better place.
Also if I then eat Hitlers remains(if there were any) would I become nazbol?

Is this a normal thought process?

It would never get past the single cell phase. Life needs extinction events to not stay stagnant.

                                                Turbo 86  1 weeks back

Extinction events push evolution in relatively fantastic ways but evolution is mostly an arms race so it is logical that the single cell phase would always lead to multi-cellular life within many generations... it just takes longer as natural selection isn't being forced down one route.

A great example i heard about evolution is about these moths that live on a certain tree (both are creamy white). They use this tree to camouflage themselves from predators. The trees were slowly dusted by pollition from nearby industry and the bark of the trees stafting to turn grey/black - the creamy white moths were no longer camouflaged and so the darker ones had a better chance of survival (recessive genes and mutations etc). Eventually the moths were all dark to match the darker tree bark. Years later, the eco-activists/government/whoever decided that they wanted to clean all the trees and so they were quickly turned back to their natural creamy white. The moths went through the exact same process and became predominantly creamy white again. Natural selection as a direct consequence of the creature habitat.

Point is, life is constantly evolving, extinction level events just force life to deviate quickly from the oath it was currently on rather than be the engine that causes it in the first place.
