        Have watched all 5 episodes, ready to make the coconut layer cake...but cannot find the recipe! Can you please post the recipe somewhere?             Soaks are something I've never used before in cake baking. Some recipes called for it, but I skipped it because it seemed weird. I'll have to give it a go next time around.

                              I just made the caramel by looking at the amount of heavy cream she used and working backward to find the other amounts. Here’s what I think the quantities are (and what worked for me)

                              2 cups sugar
                              1 cup heavy cream
                              1 tbsp kosher salt
                              8 tbsp coconut oil
                              2 cups toasted coconut (one 5oz package of unsweetened coconut that I pulverized in a processor and then toasted)

                                                                          Why not use salted butter in the chocolate ganache, instead of adding salt?

                                                                            I believe it’s the same reason why salted butter tends to never be used for baking. You can’t control how much salt is in the butter and therefore can’t ensure the outcome you want for your baked good. To get the right amount it’s easiest to add the salt yourself. It would be really great if you could hit two birds with one stone, but it’s best to have as much control as possible when it comes to your creation.

                                                                                      I remember having small vanilla milk cartons in elementary school. They didn’t last very long. The same company even released a blue raspberry flavored milk. What a wild time. Chocolate milk is obviously the best. 😛
